CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERVISORS TRAINING PROGRAMME -OVERVIEW
Introduction
Norken Construction site supervisor training course focusses on the importance and relevance of knowledge and practical skills necessary to achieve competency for the personnel involved in construction supervision. Construction supervision is the culmination of events in a projects life cycle which encompasses feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, procurement, and finally construction. Without proper organization and management during the construction phase all planning efforts will have gone to waste and the desired benefits from the project would not be achieved.
For successful delivery of projects site supervisors must understand the managerial and supervision skills, in addition to this technical knowledge, that they need to have. Construction job sites must be managed by and supervised well and be risk free to ensure the likelihood project success. There is a potentially high risk and impact construction sites are not managed and supervised effectively. Unfortunately, incidences of collapsed buildings in Kenya have been witnessed. This is why Norken is teaming up with NCA to ensure such incidence become a thing of the past if all supervisors can undertake this training programme.
The training programme consists of a set of three courses that have been designed to improve supervisors’ knowledge and skills in the organization and management of construction sites.

  1. Concrete Practice – Basic Course
  2. Pavement design and construction – Introduction
  3. Contracts Management and administration – Introduction
  4. Business Management Training

These courses have been approved by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) and the National Construction Authority (NCA). Participants who successfully undertake these courses will be awarded certificates and also earn 10 CPD points and with this they can apply for NCA supervisors practicing License.
